The means to connect multiple communications nodes together whether point to point, meshed, configured or on an ad hoc basis is our network. No situation is the same and all applications have methods which perform better for their allotted use.
Point to point links have a place in many communications requirements but often show limitations in complex situations. Meshing multiple nodes together allows for link path-finding and maximising data rates regardless of link performance. Broken links can be repaired, communications can be patched through, large areas can be covered without infrastructure and networks can be self establishing. Penetration into buildings, bunkers and tunnels are possible along with range extension.
It is here that IQHQ tries and tests the what ifs, the algorithms and the policy engines that make this happen.
